The is a new novel series that has become very popular in Japan. Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu, or Re:ZERO for short, is a fantasy series about a young man named Natsuki Subaru who travels to another world and discovers that he can rewind time by up to five seconds.
Re:Zero follows his attempts to fix past mistakes and save his own life and the lives of those around him. The story gets more complex as he tries harder to fix mistakes, making for an interesting read.
The Re:Zero light novels are published in Japanese and have not been translated into English. There is also no official English translation of the manga adaptation of the story. However, there are several fan-translated versions of both the light novels and the manga available for download and reading.
The group goes on a mission
After the incident at the capital, the group goes on missions to gain money and experience. They hunt monsters in the forest, find treasures in dungeons, and do menial tasks for rewards.
The group does missions together sometimes, but mostly they go alone. It’s important to pay attention to each other’s strength and ability when doing missions so that no one gets hurt or injured too badly.
Mission experience can be traded for new skills, so it is an important part of character development. The more experienced someone is with doing missions, the better chance they have of succeeding in them.
This is why it’s important to keep track of how many missions each person has done – so that they know what kind of mission they are capable of handling.
They get the mission details
So far, Rimuru has met all the necessary people to form a team to take on this mission. They needed a warrior, a mage, and someone with administrative and communication skills.
They also needed someone who was experienced in fighting these types of monsters. Luckily for them, Rimuru is an experienced warrior!
Now that they have all the skills they need, it’s time to get down to business. They need to figure out the details of this mission, like what it is and how to complete it.
The god that sent them all back to Earth told them what the mission was: Defeat Uruka! She is a powerful demon that has been wreaking havoc on the demon realm and has threatened to invade the human realm as well.
The group departs for the dungeon
With the group all gathered, it was time to head down to the dungeon. It was explained that since they were all experienced adventurers, it would be a quick run through.
They started by dividing into groups to scout the dungeon and find the treasure. As Greed and Demi went off together, Lizzie and Leon went off together, leaving Slimeslayer alone.
As they went deeper, each group ran into different challenges. Greed and Demi had to fight some tough enemies while Lizzie and Leon had to figure out some puzzles to get past. Slimeslayer just had to take out all of the enemies in her way.
Once they all met up at the end, they figured out that there was a hidden passage that led them somewhere else. They decided to head down this passage where they found something peculiar…
Inside the dungeon
Inside the dungeon, you will find many dangers. There are a variety of enemies that dwell inside the dungeon, and you must be careful not to run into them.
Slimes are very weak against fire, so any enemy that uses fire as a strong point is going to be a hard fight. Luckily for you, you can simply regenerate from any attack, making it easier to overcome this weakness!
There are some enemies that are very strong in terms of defense. These enemies take many attacks to weaken or kill them, which can be tedious and time consuming. Keep an eye out for these types of enemies!
Some enemies have special abilities that can cause various effects on you or the environment around you. Be sure to check what these abilities are and how to avoid them so that you do not get caught off guard.
Shou tries to use his magic sword
In this volume, we see Shou try to use his magic sword for the first time. Unfortunately, he does not do so successfully.
The first time Shou tries to unsheath his sword, it glows and then disappears. This happens several times before it finally stays in place. Even then, it does not physically appear; it is just a projection of the sword.
Shou cannot figure out how to make the sword materialize, so he goes to Frota for help. She explains that the problem may be with his mana control, which is something that can be trained. With more practice and focus, he will probably be able to get it down.
It is interesting to note that although Shou’s sword was a magical weapon, Frota mentions that there are no such things in this world. It seems that all weapons in this world are purely physical.
Everyone gets new weapons and armor
After finishing the first floor, everyone got new weapons and armor. It was time to upgrade!
Weapons and armor can be bought from weapon and armor vendors. The quality of the weapon or armor depends on the level of the dungeon you get it in.
You can also get high quality weapons and armor as drops in dungeons. When you equip a high quality weapon or armor, your abilities increase, making you even more powerful!
The best way to know if a weapon or armor is high quality is by looking at the stats it gives.
Amusing things that happened during the mission
The mission was full of amusing things that happened. It was almost as if the slime was trying to make things more interesting.
The first amusing thing that happened was when they were gathering information on the Orcs. The slime gathered so much information that it filled up its head, and it had to transfer some of the information to Chagama-san, who came to investigate it later.
The second amusing thing that happened was when the slime tried to eat a deer. It almost succeeded, but then it suddenly remembered that it couldn’t eat anything unless it was a monster, so it just let go of the deer and let it run away unharmed.
The third amusing thing that happened was when the slime tried to mimic what Rimuru did with his arm and hand earlier in the day. Unfortunately for the slime, Rimuru didn’t realize this until later in the day when he saw his arm moving on its own again.
What happens to the captured humans?
So what happens to the captured humans? Can they stay in this new world with the slimes?
Unfortunately, no. Once captured, humans can no longer live in this world. This is because all humans can do is eat, drink, and walk.
Slimes, on the other hand, require very little to survive. Because of this, it is easy for a slime to care for another creature. In fact, it is almost necessary for their survival.
When a slime cultivates a relationship with another creature, they become what is called a companion creature. A Companion Creature can either be an animal or a human that the slime recognises as something that can care for itself.
Conrad was able to stay because he proved he could care for himself by fighting off the hunger instinct within him.
