Profile photos are a big deal on social media. They create a new level of identity for your profile, as well as add some fun to the platform. You can choose your profile photo for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and many other social media platforms.
With so many platforms requiring a profile photo, it is important to know how to save them in case of a photo-saving crisis. Unfortunately, as with any technology, things crash sometimes.
Today’s crisis is the widespread problem of disappearing photos on all major social media sites. Users are reporting that they are unable to save their profile photos, and many are assuming that this is because of an update or change in the system.
However, it seems like this issue is more widespread than that- something more fundamental has changed about how the photo-saving function works. This issue seems to have started around mid-December 2018 and has been increasing in severity since then.
Here are some tips to help you save your profile photo
As mentioned earlier, keeping your phone in your pocket or phone case will help prevent damage to your device if you encounter a crash. If you have to take your phone out, keep it in your hand instead of putting it on a surface.
In case of a crash, your phone will be protected by the solid casing and your hand will feel the impact first, preventing it from hitting the screen.
Additionally, if you have to take photos at the race, try to use a tripod or find a stable surface to set your camera on. This way, you can guarantee that you get a good quality picture!
If you need to quickly take a photo without a tripod, try using the timer on your camera so that it automatically takes the picture after you smile for the photo. This way, you do not have to worry about holding up the camera and dropping it while taking the photo.
If you get an error message saying that we could not save your profile photo, please try again later

We have a lot of users right now and as more people join the wait is getting longer. We are working hard to let everyone save their profile photos, so please be patient.
We will be sending out an email when your profile photo has been saved so you will know it is ready. If you do not receive an email, then your photo has been saved and is ready to view!
Saving the photos takes a while because we have to process them one by one which takes a lot of time. We are working hard to get everyone processed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
If you still do not see your photo after you have received the email that it was saved, try re-saving it! Sometimes the error occurs during the saving process so if it happens again, try re-saving your photo again.
Try again later

If the Instagram server is down due to too much traffic, or there is a major system update that requires people to re-install the app, forcing users to create new accounts, you can tell people to try again later.
Unfortunately, this is not a permanent fix. As soon as the servers are back up and running, you will need to make a new account or re-create your old one.
If there is not a larger issue with the app or server, then deleting and re-downloading the app will just make you have to start from scratch. You will not be able to retrieve your old account unless you had an email confirmation for it.
If you are having trouble saving your profile photo or it keeps crashing when you try to save it, try looking up how to download and install the app on your computer instead of using your phone. That way you can save it on your computer before transferring it onto your phone.
Contact the site administrator

If you have an account on a website or app that has a profile feature, the first thing you should do is contact the site administrator via their email or contact form.
You can ask them two things: first, to take down your information from their database, and second, to restore your account if they have a method of doing so.
If they do not have a way to restore your account, then you can only hope that they will take down your information. It is best to check if they have any ways to do so by looking at other people who have had their accounts deleted and checked what the site administrator responded with.
If there is no way for the site administrator to take down your information, then try asking them how to prevent your profile photo from being saved onto computers and phones.
Use a different browser

A lot of people just use Google Chrome as their browser, but that can be risky. There are times when Chrome will not save your profile photo because it cannot save images from certain sites.
Google Chrome has a built-up reputation for being able to save images from all sites, but that is not the case. Try experimenting with other browsers like Firefox or Edge to see if they can save the image.
If you only have Chrome, try restarting it and seeing if that fixes the problem. Sometimes temporary files get messed up and need a refresh!
Once you have tried these tips, if you still cannot save the image, then you will have to wait until TikTok fixes the problem. There is no way to manually save the image at this time.
Check your Internet connection

If you are able to access the Internet normally, then you should check your Internet connection.
If there is a problem with your phone’s connection to the network, then your phone will not be able to sync your profile photos. If this is the case, then you will have to wait until the problem is fixed or upload a new photo later.
Make sure your data is on and that you have enough data for Instagram. If not, then you may need to switch providers or upgrade your plan.
Check your service provider and/or router to make sure that they are working properly. If they are not, then try resetting or replacing them.
Check your Internet speed to make sure that it is not too slow. If it is, then try switching providers or upgrading it.
Delete the profile photo and try to upload it again

If you have already tried all the tips above, and you are still getting the same error, then it is time to take action into your own hands.
Try deleting your current profile photo and trying to upload it again. You can do this by going to Settings > Accounts > Access Account Managment > Select Account > Delete Photo.
Do not delete your account unless you have a back up of all the information associated with your account. When you sign up again, you will lose all information associated with your account.
If deleting the photo does not work, try doing a phone reset using the settings in Settings > Accounts > Access Account Management.
Restart your device

If the Photo Stream and iCloud features are causing you trouble, try to disable them for a while. You can do this in Settings and then iCloud.
Another quick fix is to restart your device. If something strange is happening and it won’t let you save your photos or upload from other sources, then this is a good solution.
It will only take a few minutes, and it can solve some software issues. Plus, it will reset some settings so it is worth trying!
Obviously, this is not a long-term solution but it can help you out in a crisis. By the way, if you are having trouble with your Wi-Fi or cellular connection, try turning off your device’s wireless and then re-establish your connection. This may fix the problem.
